Many years ago when Dr Bliss was a young GP I lived in Bradenstoke. My memories are of him travelling from Wootton Bassett to hold a weekly surgery in the village hall. He would arrive in his Morris Traveller with boxes full of all the villagers records (no computerised records then,) which he then carried into the hall. Patients would just turn up, take a seat and go in to see him when they deemed it their turn. He would never leave until all patients had been seen. Call outs were never a problem to him, he was a professional through and through. Many of the older people in the village didn't have transport and hence this service was provided. I was a few years younger than Dr Bliss but I have never forgotten the high regard in which the villagers held him and to this day I often quote the fabulous service he gave to us back then. I was saddened to hear of his 'Passing'.
